Challenger Division

Little League’s Challenger Division is a separate, adaptive division that was established to give boys and girls with physical and developmental challenges a chance to enjoy the game of baseball. Today, more than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide.

Our games are designed to be developmentally appropriate with an emphasis on fun and teamwork. Our team of volunteer buddies are on the field to assist Challengers players with batting, fielding and running the bases where necessary and encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. The buddy is always nearby to help on an individual basis when needed so that every child has the opportunity to participate regardless of ability or limitations. The game adapts to the needs of all participants.

How does it work?

1

Players are divided into two equal teams and provided with uniforms.

2

Practices are held every wednesday from 6-7pm, where players will get the chance to learn the fundamentals.

3

Buddies are paired up with a player on game day to assist players, as little or as much as needed throughout the game.

4

Games are held at 1pm on SUNDAY Afternoons and last one hour.

5

In games, there are no outs, and every player will get to hit. Players can choose to hit off the tee or by coach pitch.

6

Our spring season will last from April 24 through June 30.
